Terms of Service

These terms set the ground rules for using Roam Rule, including route-guidance limits, subscriptions, acceptable use, AI limitations, and account responsibilities.

Need a quick route?

Roam Rule helps expats, aircrew, and globally mobile people keep a clearer record of travel days, stay limits, and residency exposure.

Who these terms are with

Roam Rule is provided by Handlr Ventures Ltd, trading as Handlr Ai, registered in England under company number 12786304.

If you use Roam Rule, you are agreeing to these terms with Handlr Ventures Ltd.

Service scope

Roam Rule may change over time as we improve the product. Features, availability, pricing, copy, and workflows can be updated when needed.

The service is designed to help travellers organise travel evidence, understand trackers, and review travel-day outcomes in one place.

Roam Rule is informational only

Roam Rule does not provide legal, tax, immigration, or regulatory advice. Any summaries, counters, AI responses, or explanatory text are informational only and should not be treated as a substitute for professional advice.

You remain responsible for checking your own obligations, deadlines, filings, and legal position with appropriately qualified advisers where needed.

Route guidance and residency recommendations

Roam Rule may show route suggestions, "Most common" labels, confidence prompts, route history, and similar setup guidance to help you organise likely tax-residency positions. Those suggestions can still be incomplete, unsuitable for your circumstances, or wrong.

Your own facts, local rules, official authority guidance, submitted filings, and advice from your tax or legal adviser take priority over anything shown in Roam Rule. Being able to change a route later is a correction tool only; it does not shift responsibility for checking your position to Roam Rule.

Accounts and access

You must provide accurate information when creating or maintaining your account and keep your login methods and devices secure.

You are responsible for activity on your account unless it results from our own failure to maintain reasonable security.

Permissions, travel evidence, and device behaviour

Some features depend on location permissions, timezone choices, and reliable device behaviour. If you disable location access, limit background use, use the app on unsupported devices, or provide incomplete evidence, parts of the service may become less reliable or unavailable.

You should only submit data you have the right to provide and only use the service for your own travel record or for another person where you are authorised to act for them.

Acceptable use

You must not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt to bypass quotas or entitlements, reverse engineer protected parts of the product, or use Roam Rule to process unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent material.

  • do not attempt to probe, scrape, or disrupt the service
  • do not bypass feature gates, payment controls, or account restrictions
  • do not submit unlawful, deceptive, or third-party data without authority

Plans, trials, subscriptions, and restores

The current product contract includes Core and Premium access paths. Eligible new subscribers may be offered a seven-day Core or Premium trial with an Apple monthly or annual subscription. If accepted, the selected subscription renews automatically unless cancelled. Some existing accounts may continue under their original backend-managed trial terms. Paid access may be offered through monthly, annual, lifetime, or manually granted paths depending on the platform and rollout stage.

Where your purchase is handled by Apple or Google, billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are also subject to that store’s rules. Roam Rule surfaces a restore-purchases flow in-app, but restoration still depends on the underlying store account and purchase history.

For iOS app downloads, Apple’s standard Terms of Use (EULA) also applies to the app licence.

AI features

Roam Rule may offer AI-assisted features such as itinerary imports, rules questions, unknown-day triage, and risk summaries. These features can be useful, but they can also be incomplete, out of date, or wrong.

You must review AI outputs critically and should not rely on them as legal, tax, immigration, or compliance advice. The same applies to route suggestions, confidence messaging, and any tax-residency recommendation generated or surfaced by the product.

ChatGPT app access

When Roam Rule is available as a ChatGPT app, account linking is optional and only works for existing Roam Rule accounts. The ChatGPT app is read-only in this version.

The ChatGPT app may help you query your own Roam Rule travel record, counters, trackers, unknown days and account status. It cannot edit days, resolve unknown days, create accounts, export account archives, buy subscriptions or act as support or admin tooling.

Outputs shown through ChatGPT remain informational only. ChatGPT account use is also subject to OpenAI’s own terms and privacy controls.

Intellectual property

Roam Rule, its software, design, content, and underlying systems remain the property of Handlr Ventures Ltd or its licensors. These terms give you a limited right to use the service for its intended purpose, not ownership of the product itself.

Handlr is a registered trademark of Handlr Ventures Ltd.

Availability and changes

We may update, suspend, or remove features at any time. We may also impose or adjust limits, quotas, or eligibility rules where needed for stability, security, cost control, or rollout management.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, create security or abuse risks, or materially interfere with the service or other users.

You can also stop using Roam Rule at any time, and in-app account deletion is being surfaced as part of the product’s compliance tooling.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, Roam Rule is provided on an as-available basis and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, perfect accuracy, or suitability for every legal or travel scenario.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of opportunity, or loss caused by relying on informational outputs, route suggestions, confidence indicators, or other guidance where professional advice or independent verification was required.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales unless mandatory local consumer law says otherwise. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction except where mandatory law provides a different forum.

Questions about these terms can be sent to support@roamrule.com or by post to 82 Wandsworth Bridge Road, London, SW6 2TF, United Kingdom.
